The Assumption of our Blessed Mother reminded us of her faithfulness. Pope Francis said that Our Lady teaches us to be a “Church going forth.” In her humility, she trusted God’s promise and said “yes,” allowing Him to do great things through her. Mother Mary’s journey reminds us that nothing is impossible with God, and her unwavering faith serves as an example of courage and commitment.
Inspired by this message, the Sisters of the community renewed their vows, symbolizing their continued devotion to God and His people. Carrying small candles, they walked towards the altar, expressing their promise to live in service, humility, and love. Their renewal was not only a moment of deep prayer but also a living testimony of trust in God’s immense goodness. After the Mass, the program continued with a special performance by pianist Mr. Charles Abing, a Filipino musician based in Japan who has dedicated his life to both music and education. At just nine years old, Mr. Abing began playing the piano, and through discipline and passion, he mastered the art. During the program, he performed a piece he first heard at a figure skating competition, which he later perfected. The audience was captivated by his speed, precision, and musicality.
He followed this with a second, faster composition that left the audience amazed. Beyond the piano, Mr. Abing also showcased his talent with the flute, proving his versatility as a musician. His performance was described as breathtaking and served as an inspiration to both students and teachers, showing how passion, perseverance, and faith can bring forth great achievements. The celebration of the Assumption of Mary, enriched by the Sisters’ renewal of their evangelical vows and the uplifting music of Mr. Abing, reminded the school community of the values of faith, service, and dedication. It was truly a day that strengthened hope, inspired dreams, and deepened the spirit of unity within the Niña Maria Learning Center.
