The Feast of Niña Maria is a cherished tradition that blends faith, devotion, and community. This year’s celebration was marked by meaningful activities that nurtured spiritual growth, environmental awareness, and shared joy among a group of children in the apostolate area of the Lestonnac Flame Circle (LFC).
The day began with the LFC members preparing for the event, setting up the altar, and providing flowers. The children were to offer these flowers, symbolizing devotion to Niña Maria, during the Rosary prayer.
As the children arrived, their eagerness was evident. They were introduced to the significance of the Feast of Niña Maria, setting the tone for prayer and celebration. The children learned about the importance of offering their prayers and roses, making the occasion deeply personal and meaningful.
Learning and Praying the Rosary
Gathered in a circle around an altar with an image of Niña Maria, the children were taught the steps of praying the Rosary, the meaning of the prayer, and the significance of meditating on the mysteries. Children received a rosary and a rose.
After each mystery, the children offered their roses to Niña Maria, an act of devotion that filled the atmosphere with reverence. Even the youngest participants showed remarkable attentiveness and enthusiasm, making this a powerful spiritual experience.
Planting and Growing Trees
The next activity encouraged environmental stewardship through tree planting. In small groups, the children planted saplings, guided by LFC members who explained the importance of trees in maintaining a healthy environment. The children learned how their actions could contribute to a better world. This hands-on activity not only connected them to nature but also taught them the value of nurturing life and taking responsibility for Mother Earth.
Games and Camaraderie
After the spiritual and ecological activities, the children enjoyed a lively game of "Pass the Ball." It was simple yet exciting, promoting camaraderie and joy among the participants. Laughter and cheers filled the air, highlighting the importance of play and shared moments of fun.
Snacks and Reflection
The day's activities concluded with a special snack, generously provided by the circle of Lestonnac Animators, followed by a moment of reflection. Moderated by select members of LFC, a brief review of the day's events was held, during which children from their respective Responsible Teams (RT) were encouraged to share their favorite moments. The children enjoyed planting trees, offering roses to Niña Maria, and playing games with friends.

Takeaways and Impact
The Feast of Niña Maria celebration was more than a day of activities; it was an opportunity to instill lasting values in the children. Through the Rosary, they connected with their faith. By planting trees, they learned environmental responsibility. And through games, they built bonds of friendship and cooperation.
As the children went home, their hearts were filled with new experiences and cherished memories. The celebration left a lasting impact, fostering spiritual growth and a sense of purpose. It was a day where prayer, nature, and fun came together, leaving everyone inspired and joyful. This time of reflection helped the children appreciate the deeper values they had practiced—faith, community, environmental care, and joy.
