Connecting Spiritually: The Lestonnac Flame Circle’s Advent Recollection

On December 14, 2024, the Niña Maria Arts Hub Scholars, collectively known as the “Lestonnac Flame Circle,” gathered for a significant recollection aimed at deepening our connection with God. This event marked a special occasion as we were introduced for the very first to Taizé prayer—a simple, meditative form of worship designed to help us dwell on Christ's presence both around and within us. Through this practice, we opened our hearts to Jesus Christ, enhancing our spiritual journey and fostering a sense of divine communion.

The main goal of the recollection was to achieve a holistic connection with God—physically, mentally, and spiritually. The Taizé prayer was a profound experience for everyone.

The following day, December 15, 2024, we participated in the Mass at San Lorenzo Ruiz Chapel. This sacred time allowed us to reconnect with God after several months of separation.

After breakfast, the scholars gathered to listen to the story of St. Jeanne de Lestonnac, the inspiration behind our group’s name. This narrative enriched our understanding of our identity as the “Lestonnac Flame Circle,” emphasizing our mission to carry forth the light of faith.

As the recollection came to a close, we engaged in heartfelt sharing, reflecting on the experiences and the emotions stirred by the activities. This Advent activity to prepare for Christmas not only reinforced our connection to God but also solidified our bonds of friendship, leaving us with cherished memories and renewed spiritual commitment.

In essence, the Lestonnac Flame Circle's recollection was more than just a gathering; it was a pivotal moment of spiritual awakening and communal strength, guiding each member closer to God and with one another.
