Every year in October, traditionally known as Rosary Month, Catholics are encouraged to pray the Rosary daily, reflecting on the life of Christ and the virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
On October 1, 2024, Niña Maria Learning Center (NMLC) invited students to recite the Holy Rosary in their respective classes. To culminate the month, the ODN sisters arranged a special Living Rosary activity on the 31st. During this event, students from the higher grade levels accompanied the younger ones as they walked together to a huddle of floral foam on the school stage, where they placed their assigned flowers. The flowers were symbolic, with the first ones, in pink, representing joy, love, and compassion.Ms. Sheraldene C. Eleccion and Maxine Aleah F. Ubalde led the first Luminous Mystery, using yellow flowers that symbolize light, divinity, and illumination. Ms. Kaye C. Villarico and Vaughn Mischa G. Marte handled the second mystery. The third mystery was led by Ms. Maikee Ydell R. Reyes and a Grade 4 student, Chazzy Matig. Ms. Lowelyn Castillo took charge of the fourth mystery along with Penelope Urbina, while the Grade 2 adviser, Ms. Liza B. Nalla, and her student, Valerie Kaye Prentice, guided the recitation of the fifth Luminous Mystery, using purple flowers that symbolize penance, reparation, and reflection.
The month of the Rosary not only deepens our devotion to prayer but also offers an opportunity to reflect on the life of Christ and Mother Mary, Our Lady. It strengthens our spiritual lives through meditation on the mysteries of the Rosary. The Holy Rosary reminds us of the great power of prayer and the importance of seeking divine intercession in facing life’s challenges. It also fosters faith, hope, and a sense of community.
