A Heartfelt Tribute to Sr. Cristina Tamura ODN and Sr. Yoshie Takagi ODN

In a touching celebration organized by Ma’am Maria Flerida Tanhueco-Nery, Ph.D., Principal of Niña Maria Learning Center (NMLC), the school community came together to honor Sr. Cristina Tamura ODN, Superior of the ODN-Asia Province, and Sr. Yoshie Takagi ODN, a member of the Provincial Team, during their visit to the ODN-Nazareth Community and their mission from September 12-16, 2024. Coordinating with school teachers and

some parents, Ma’am Flery led a

surprise program to express the NMLC

community's deep gratitude and

appreciation for the two Sisters’

presence and dedicated service to the

Order of the Company of Mary Our Lady.

The children, showcasing their creativity, presented hand-made gifts, while the parents offered bouquets of flowers—a special gesture of thanks for the Sisters' role in the approval of their request to open a grade school program back in 2019. The Provincial Team's favorable acceptance and support made possible the establishment of the NMLC grade school, and the first batch of students is now set to graduate in March 2025.

This event was a reminder of the close-knit and grateful spirit of the NMLC family, whose journey continues to be guided by the values and shared leadership of the lay partners and the ODN Sisters in the Philippines.
