Ash Wednesday: A Time for Prayer and Reflection

On February 18, 2026 at 9:00 a.m., the Niña Maria Learning Center celebrated Ash Wednesday Mass. During the homily, the priest talked about a child who was excited to go to their first day of school. Afterward, the child had dinner with his mother, and before going to sleep, he first sang the alphabet. The next day, he did the same thing as the day before, and this time his mother became worried. On the third day, his mother finally asked him why he was singing the alphabet when he was praying. He replied that it was because the teacher told the pupils to sing the alphabet so that God would rearrange the letters into a proper prayer, because He knows the message you want to speak in your heart.  After a 10-minute break, the pupils gathered again on the stage to watch a tableau about the life of St. Jeanne de Lestonnac and the awarding ceremony for the Quiz Bee to close the Lestonnac Week. Afterward, the pupils from Grade 4, Grade 5, and Grade 6 handed over the gifts for Operation Kilo, supporting the families assigned to them. Through this activity, the pupils learned the importance of sharing with others and how much of a positive impact it can make.
